Teaching Artis: Matisse Prints

Matisse Prints: Students will take inspiration from Henri Matisse’s cut-out forms to create color diffused prints. Watercolor will be used to create a background and cut out shapes will be layered on top. These prints will be placed out in the sun to let the colors migrate throughout the piece. This will allow the colors to move from areas of high concentration to low concentration which is known as diffusion.
